A warm welcome to the Edward Ardizzone Archive!
This website is devoted to the endeavour of collecting and categorising digitally, the works of Edward Ardizzone. During his lifetime, the much-loved British artist produced a prodigious quantity of illustrations, original prints, sketches, paintings, and sculptures.
In addition, we aim to compile various articles of interest.
Our objective is to provide a succinct and enjoyable experience, and a useful resource, whether to immerse yourself in childhood memories, to study the craft and techniques of illustration, or to check up on likely authenticity. We hope that regular visitors and fans of the artist's work will appreciate the site, as well as researchers and professionals in various fields including art theory, literature, and history.
Browse all the images via the Archive Gallery, or explore the Thematic Galleries, which feature our own themed compilations of images. We would greatly appreciate your comments and suggestions for new thematic galleries.
Please feel free to contribute to the Archive’s development by suggesting or bringing to light missing artworks, interesting articles, and any other ways we can enhance the content.
This digital archive is initiated as a personal project by the artist's direct descendants and is not for profit. Any donations will help us to maintain and further improve the site.
